RMS: history and schools

Established in 1925, Rashtriya Military Schools are Ministry of Defence residential schools for children of defence personnel and civilians. The five schools are at Chail, Ajmer, Dholpur, Belgaum and Bengaluru. They follow CBSE and teach in English, with Classes 6–12; the prospectus states that the schools offer the Science stream after Class 10. Admission is as a boarder, not a day scholar.

Latest confirmed CET dates

The verified official portal covers 2026–27. Registration ran from 10 September 2025 to 9 October 2025; the CET was held on 7 December 2025. The portal published fourth merit lists on 19 August 2026. These dates are past. The checked official sources do not yet establish a 2027–28 schedule; wait for its own notification.

Class 9: Paper I has English 50, Hindi 20 and Social Science 30 marks. Paper II has Mathematics 50 and Science 50 marks. Each paper requires 50%. Interview: 50 marks. Class 6 uses Class 5 level and a Hindi/English paper; Class 9 uses Class 8 level and an English paper. Follow the current admit card for reporting and paper timings.

Class-wise syllabus

Prepare the prescribed previous-class school subjects, English comprehension and grammar, and age-appropriate reasoning/general awareness. For Class 9 prepare Hindi, mathematics, science and social science as separate components. Use the prospectus to distinguish official exam rules from extended preparation checklists.
